The Arab Society of Genetic Counselors (ASGC)
The Arab Society of Genetic Counselors (ASGC) is a non-profit corporation that promotes networking, creates resources, and encourages collaboration among genetic professionals in order to extend quality genetic services to Arab patients globally.
The ASGC is headquartered in Michigan, USA, with membership and participation from around the world. The goals of the society are to:
- •Extend genetic counseling services to underserved Arab populations by making available a growing registry of genetic counselors located in various countries;
- •Create resources to help the general public with information on genetic and hereditary factors;
- •Advocate for Arab patients by raising awareness on their unique cultural, religious, and social characteristics;
- •Support genetic counselors and other genetic professionals who are serving Arab patients by creating networking and collaboration opportunities.

ASGC Through the Years
Officially incorporated as a non-profit under the Michigan Department of Licensing. Rebranded to the Arab Society of Genetic Counselors (ASGC) with new bylaws and Board of Directors.
Launch of the official website with bilingual tools, the Find a Genetic Counselor directory, and expansion of membership across Arab countries.
Educational webinars on hereditary cancers and rare diseases reach professionals and patients across MENA. Launch of the bilingual fact sheets program.
Webinar on genetic referrals and regional challenges. Continued growth of bilingual resources and the professional directory.
